New to Anti-Wrinkle Injections? Start Here.

If this is your first treatment, we recommend reading this page before your appointment. It explains how anti-wrinkle injections work, what to expect after treatment, when you will see results, and answers the questions we are most frequently asked by our patients.
ABOUT ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS
Anti-wrinkle injections are one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for softening expression lines and preventing deeper wrinkles from forming. The treatment uses a purified protein called botulinum toxin to temporarily relax specific facial muscles responsible for repetitive facial expressions.
Unlike dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injections do not add volume or fill wrinkles. Instead, they reduce muscle activity, allowing the skin to smooth naturally while maintaining a refreshed and natural appearance.
At VVV Beauty Clinic, every treatment is individually tailored to your facial anatomy, muscle strength, and aesthetic goals. Our philosophy is to achieve subtle, balanced results that preserve your natural facial expressions while helping you look rested and confident.
Whether you are looking to prevent early signs of ageing or soften existing lines, your treatment plan will always be personalised to achieve the most natural outcome.

HOW BOTOX WORKS
Botulinum toxin works by temporarily blocking the signals between nerves and selected muscles. As the treated muscles relax, they contract less during facial expressions such as frowning, raising the eyebrows, or squinting.
Because the skin is no longer repeatedly folded in the same way, existing dynamic wrinkles gradually become softer and the formation of deeper lines is slowed.
It is important to understand that anti-wrinkle injections do not fill wrinkles like dermal fillers. Instead, they reduce the muscle movements that cause those wrinkles to appear.
The treatment is temporary, allowing muscle activity to gradually return over time, giving you complete flexibility to maintain your results as desired.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Every patient responds slightly differently, but most people experience the following timeline:

Day 1
Your treatment is completed.

Days 2–5
You may begin to notice the first reduction in muscle movement.

Days 7–10
Most patients notice a significant improvement.

Days 10–14
The majority of your final result becomes visible.

Days 14–21
The treatment reaches its full effect. This is the ideal time for your practitioner to assess your final result and determine whether any small adjustment (top-up) is required.

Please avoid judging your final result before 14 days, as the treatment develops gradually. During the first two weeks, it is completely normal for one side of the face to respond slightly faster than the other.

BENEFITS OF ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS
Anti-wrinkle injections offer both cosmetic and preventative benefits, helping you achieve a fresher and more youthful appearance without surgery.
Benefits include:
✔ Softening existing expression lines
✔ Helping to prevent deeper wrinkles from developing
✔ Creating a refreshed and well-rested appearance
✔ Maintaining natural facial expressions
✔ Improving facial balance and symmetry
✔ Providing subtle, natural-looking results
✔ Boosting confidence while preserving your unique features
Our goal is never to create a “frozen” appearance, but to enhance your natural beauty while maintaining facial movement and expression.

HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?
The effects of anti-wrinkle injections typically last around 3–4 months, although this varies from person to person.
Several factors influence how long your results may last, including:
• your natural metabolism
• muscle strength
• treatment area
• dosage administered
• level of physical activity
• gender
• whether this is your first treatment
As the effects gradually wear off, normal muscle movement slowly returns. Regular maintenance treatments, performed at appropriate intervals, can help maintain consistent, natural-looking results over time.

WHY IS IT BETTER TO TREAT ALL AREAS TOGETHER?
The muscles of the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet work together every time you make facial expressions. Treating these areas as a whole often creates a more balanced, natural-looking result.
Treating only one area while leaving neighbouring muscles untreated may sometimes lead to:
  • Uneven facial movement
  • Heavy or lowered eyebrows
  • Increased movement in untreated muscles
  • Less balanced overall results

THE TREATMENT
Your appointment begins with a personalised consultation to discuss your concerns, medical history, facial anatomy, and desired outcome.
Your practitioner will carefully assess your facial expressions both at rest and during movement before creating an individual treatment plan.
The treatment itself involves a series of small injections using a very fine needle. Most patients describe the procedure as quick and well tolerated, with only minimal discomfort.
The appointment usually takes around 20–30 minutes, including your consultation.
There is no required downtime, and most patients return to their normal daily activities immediately after treatment.

WHY A TOP-UP MAY BE NEEDED
Every person’s muscles respond differently to botulinum toxin.
Some muscles are naturally stronger than others, and one side of the face may respond slightly differently from the other. This is completely normal.
For this reason, a small adjustment (top-up) may occasionally be recommended after your treatment has reached its full effect.
A top-up is not because the treatment has failed. It simply allows your practitioner to fine-tune your result and achieve the best possible facial balance.
Top-ups are only assessed 14–21 days after treatment, once the final result has fully developed.
Please do not request additional treatment before this time, as early adjustments may lead to over-treatment.

WHY WE ASK FOR A FOLLOW-UP REVIEW
Your follow-up review is an important part of your treatment and helps us ensure you achieve the safest and most natural-looking result.
We kindly ask all patients to send us a short facial movement video 14–21 days after their treatment.
This allows your practitioner to:
✔ Assess how your muscles have responded to treatment
✔ Check facial balance and symmetry
✔ Determine whether a small top-up is required
✔ Ensure the most natural and effective outcome
The review is included as part of your treatment because we believe excellent results are achieved through careful assessment rather than simply performing injections.

HOW TO TAKE YOUR FOLLOW-UP VIDEO
Please record a short video in good natural lighting.
Position your camera at eye level and ensure your full face is clearly visible.
If possible:
• Tie your hair back
• Remove hats, sunglasses, or anything covering your face
• Keep the camera steady
Please perform the following facial movements:
• Relax your face
• Raise your eyebrows as high as possible
• Frown as hard as you can
• Close your eyes tightly
• Smile naturally

If additional areas such as the chin, jaw (masseter), bunny lines, or neck were treated, your practitioner may ask you to perform additional movements specific to those areas.

The video should last approximately 20–30 seconds.

WHY PHOTOS ARE NOT ENOUGH
Photographs show only how your face looks at rest.
However, anti-wrinkle injections work by reducing muscle movement rather than changing the appearance of the skin alone.
For this reason, your practitioner needs to assess your facial expressions while your muscles are moving.
A short video provides significantly more information than photographs and allows us to evaluate your treatment accurately.

AFTERCARE
Following these simple aftercare instructions will help you achieve the best possible results and minimise the risk of unwanted side effects.
For the first 4 hours after your treatment:
✔ Remain upright.
✔ Avoid lying down.
✔ Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas.
✔ Do not wear tight headwear that puts pressure on the treated area.
For the first 24 hours:
✔ Avoid strenuous exercise.
✔ Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and excessive heat.
✔ Avoid alcohol where possible, as it may increase the risk of bruising.
✔ Avoid facial massages or beauty treatments involving the treated areas.
✔ Avoid unnecessary pressure on your face.

Most patients can return to work and their normal daily activities immediately after treatment.

Small bumps, redness, tenderness, or minor bruising at the injection sites are completely normal and usually resolve within a few hours to several days.

YOUR TREATMENT TIMELINE
Understanding how your treatment develops will help you know what to expect.

Day 1
Your treatment is performed.

Days 2–5
You may notice the first reduction in muscle movement.

Days 7–10
Most patients begin to see significant improvement.

Days 10–14
The majority of your final result becomes visible.

Days 14–21
Your treatment reaches its full effect.

Please send us your follow-up facial movement video during this period so your practitioner can assess your results.

Approximately 3–4 months
Muscle activity gradually returns, and many patients choose to book their next maintenance treatment.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE BOTOX?
Most patients choose to repeat treatment every 3–4 months to maintain consistent, natural-looking results.
However, treatment intervals vary depending on your individual muscle strength, metabolism, lifestyle, and treatment goals.
We generally do not recommend repeating treatment significantly sooner unless there is a specific clinical reason.
Allowing the treatment to wear off naturally before your next appointment helps maintain predictable, long-term results.

BOTOX RESISTANCE
Botulinum toxin is a highly effective treatment when used appropriately.
Although uncommon, receiving treatment too frequently or having unnecessary repeated injections over time may increase the risk of developing reduced responsiveness (sometimes referred to as “Botox resistance”).
To help minimise this risk, we recommend:
✔ Treating all required areas during the same appointment whenever appropriate.
✔ Waiting until your treatment has naturally worn off before repeating it.
✔ Attending your scheduled review appointment if a small adjustment is needed, rather than requesting additional injections too early.
Following an appropriate treatment schedule helps maintain both the effectiveness of your treatment and the most natural-looking results over time.

    General Questions
    Answer:
    1. What are anti-wrinkle injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections use a purified protein called botulinum toxin to temporarily relax selected facial muscles responsible for expression lines. By reducing muscle activity, the treatment softens existing dynamic wrinkles and helps prevent deeper lines from developing. The result is a smoother, fresher, and more youthful appearance while maintaining natural facial expressions.

    2. How does Botox work?
Botulinum toxin works by temporarily blocking the signals between nerves and selected muscles. As these muscles relax, they contract less during facial expressions such as frowning, squinting, or raising the eyebrows. This allows the overlying skin to become smoother and helps prevent wrinkles from becoming deeper over time.
Unlike dermal fillers, Botox does not add volume or fill wrinkles. Instead, it treats the muscle movements that cause wrinkles to form.

    3. What areas can be treated?
Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to treat a wide range of facial concerns, including:
    • Forehead lines
    • Frown lines (glabella)
    • Crow’s feet
    • Bunny lines
    • Brow lift
    • Lip flip
    • Gummy smile
    • Chin dimpling
    • Downturned mouth corners
    • Smoker’s lines around the lips
    • Masseter muscles (jaw slimming and teeth grinding)
    • Platysmal neck bands
Your practitioner will recommend the most suitable treatment areas based on your facial anatomy and aesthetic goals.

    4. When will I see results?
Most patients begin to notice the first effects within 2–5 days after treatment.
A significant improvement is usually visible after 7–10 days, while the full result develops within 14–21 days.
Please avoid judging your final result before two weeks, as the treatment develops gradually and one side of the face may respond slightly faster than the other.

    5. How long do results last?
    Results typically last 3–4 months.
The duration varies depending on several factors, including your metabolism, muscle strength, treatment area, physical activity, dosage, and whether this is your first treatment.
As the effects gradually wear off, muscle movement slowly returns, allowing you to decide when to book your next maintenance treatment.

    6. Will my face look frozen?
    No.
Our goal is to achieve natural-looking results while preserving your facial expressions.
At VVV Beauty Clinic, every treatment is individually tailored to your facial anatomy and muscle activity. We aim to soften unwanted lines while allowing you to smile, laugh, and express yourself naturally.

    7. Will I still be able to move my face?
    Yes.
Modern anti-wrinkle treatments are designed to reduce excessive muscle movement rather than eliminate all facial expression.
You will still be able to smile, laugh, and show emotion naturally while enjoying a smoother, more refreshed appearance.

    8. Does Botox prevent wrinkles?
    Yes.
Repeated facial expressions gradually create dynamic wrinkles, which can eventually become permanent.
By temporarily relaxing the muscles responsible for these movements, anti-wrinkle injections help slow the development of deeper lines and can be an effective preventative treatment.

    9. Why can I still see some movement?
Some movement after treatment is completely normal and often desirable.
Modern aesthetic treatments aim to preserve natural facial expressions rather than completely freeze the muscles.
If excessive movement remains after your treatment has fully developed (14–21 days), your practitioner will assess whether a small adjustment is appropriate.

    10. Why can I still see some wrinkles?
Botox relaxes muscles—it does not repair damaged skin or fill deep lines.
Wrinkles that have been present for many years may soften significantly but may not disappear completely after a single treatment.
In some cases, repeated treatments or combination procedures such as skin rejuvenation or dermal fillers may provide further improvement.

    11. Can men have Botox?
    Absolutely.
Anti-wrinkle injections are increasingly popular among men who want to look refreshed while maintaining a natural, masculine appearance.
Men often have stronger facial muscles than women, which means they may require a different treatment approach or a higher dosage to achieve optimal results. Every treatment is personalised to suit your individual facial anatomy and aesthetic goals.

    12. Does the treatment hurt?
Most patients describe the treatment as quick and very well tolerated.
A very fine needle is used, and each injection feels like a small pinprick that lasts only a few seconds. The entire procedure usually takes around 20–30 minutes, including your consultation.
No anaesthetic is usually required, and you can return to your normal daily activities immediately after your appointment.

    13. Can Botox be combined with dermal fillers?
    Yes.
Botulinum toxin and dermal fillers work in different ways and are often combined to achieve more comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
Botox relaxes the muscles that create expression lines, while dermal fillers restore lost volume, improve facial contours, and soften static wrinkles.
Your practitioner will recommend the most suitable treatment plan based on your facial anatomy, concerns, and desired outcome.

    14. How often should I have Botox?
Most patients choose to repeat treatment every 3–4 months.
The ideal treatment interval depends on your muscle strength, metabolism, lifestyle, and individual response to the treatment.
We generally do not recommend having anti-wrinkle injections more frequently than every 3 months, unless there is a specific clinical indication advised by your practitioner.
Maintaining appropriate treatment intervals helps achieve consistent, natural-looking results while reducing unnecessary exposure to botulinum toxin.

    15. What is Botox resistance?
Botox resistance is an uncommon condition in which the body becomes less responsive to botulinum toxin over time.
Although this is rare, the risk may increase with unnecessary frequent treatments or repeated injections at very short intervals.
To help minimise this risk, we recommend:
    • Treating all appropriate areas during the same appointment whenever suitable.
    • Waiting until your treatment has naturally worn off before repeating it.
    • Attending your scheduled review appointment rather than requesting additional injections too early.
Following an appropriate treatment schedule helps maintain the effectiveness of your treatment over the long term.

    16. Why is it better to treat all treatment areas together?
The muscles of the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet work together every time you make facial expressions.
Treating only one area while leaving neighbouring muscles untreated may sometimes result in:
    • Uneven facial movement
    • Heavy or lowered eyebrows
    • Increased activity in untreated muscles
    • Less balanced overall results
Treating all appropriate areas together helps achieve a more harmonious, balanced, and natural-looking appearance.

    17. Can I stop having Botox at any time?
    Yes.
    Anti-wrinkle injections are completely temporary.
If you decide not to continue treatment, the effects will gradually wear off, your muscle activity will return to normal, and your appearance will simply continue to age naturally.
Stopping treatment does not make your wrinkles worse than they would have been without treatment.

    18. Can I have Botox during pregnancy?
    No.
Anti-wrinkle injections are not recommended during pregnancy because there is insufficient evidence to confirm their safety for the developing baby.
If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are planning a pregnancy, please inform your practitioner before treatment.

    19. Can I have Botox while breastfeeding?
Anti-wrinkle injections are generally not recommended while breastfeeding.
Although there is limited evidence of harm, there is currently insufficient high-quality research to confirm safety during breastfeeding. For this reason, treatment is usually postponed until breastfeeding has finished.
If you are breastfeeding and would like advice about future treatment, our team will be happy to discuss the most appropriate timing with you.

    Questions After the Procedure
    Answer:
    1. Can I lie down after treatment?
We recommend remaining upright for at least 4 hours after your treatment.
Avoid lying flat, bending forward for prolonged periods, or putting unnecessary pressure on the treated areas. This helps minimise the risk of the product spreading to unintended muscles.

    2. Can I exercise?
Strenuous exercise should be avoided for 24 hours after treatment.
Increased blood circulation immediately after treatment may increase the risk of bruising or swelling. Light daily activities are perfectly acceptable.

    3. Can I drink alcohol?
It is advisable to avoid alcohol for 24 hours after your treatment.
Alcohol may increase blood flow and the likelihood of bruising around the injection sites.

    4. Can I wear make-up?
Yes, but we recommend waiting at least 4 hours before applying make-up to the treated areas.
When applying make-up, avoid rubbing or pressing firmly on your skin.

    5. Can I touch or massage the treated area?
    No.
Avoid rubbing, massaging, or applying firm pressure to the treated areas for 24 hours.
This helps ensure the product remains in the intended muscles and reduces the risk of unwanted muscle relaxation.

    6. Can I fly after Botox?
    Yes.
Flying does not affect the results of your treatment.
However, continue to follow all standard aftercare instructions, particularly during the first 24 hours after your appointment.

    7. Can I go to a sauna or steam room?
Please avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and excessive heat exposure for 24 hours following treatment.
Heat may increase swelling and bruising during the early healing period.

    8. Can I have a facial?
Please wait at least 24 hours before having a facial treatment.
For treatments involving deep massage or significant pressure on the face, it is often advisable to wait longer. If you are unsure, please contact our clinic for personalised advice.

    9. Can I have dental treatment?
If possible, schedule dental treatment at least 24–48 hours after your anti-wrinkle injections.
Dental procedures may involve prolonged pressure or manipulation of the facial muscles, so allowing time for the treatment to settle is recommended.

    10. Can I sleep normally?
    Yes.
After the first 4 hours, you may sleep as usual.
During the initial four hours, remain upright and avoid lying down to allow the treatment to settle properly.

    11. Can I continue my skincare routine?
    Yes.
You may gently cleanse and moisturise your skin as normal.
Avoid vigorous rubbing, exfoliation, or applying excessive pressure to the treated areas during the first 24 hours.

    12. Why do I need to send a follow-up video?
We ask every patient to send a short facial movement video 14–21 days after treatment.
By this stage, the treatment has reached its full effect, allowing your practitioner to accurately assess your results.
    The video helps us:
    • Assess muscle response.
    • Check facial symmetry.
    • Determine whether a small top-up is required.
    • Ensure you achieve the safest and most natural-looking outcome.
This follow-up is an important part of your treatment and helps us maintain the highest standard of patient care.

    13. How do I record my follow-up video?
Please record your video in good natural lighting with your camera positioned at eye level.
Ensure your full face is clearly visible and, if possible, tie your hair back.
Please perform the following facial movements:
    • Relax your face.
    • Raise your eyebrows as high as possible.
    • Frown firmly.
    • Close your eyes tightly.
    • Smile naturally.
If other areas were treated, your practitioner may ask you to perform additional movements.
Your video should be approximately 20–30 seconds long.

    14. Why are photos not enough?
Photographs show only how your face looks at rest.
Anti-wrinkle injections work by reducing muscle movement, so your practitioner needs to assess your facial expressions while your muscles are active.
A short video provides much more information than photographs alone and allows a more accurate assessment of your treatment.

    15. When can I have a top-up?
If a small adjustment is required, it will usually be assessed 14–21 days after your initial treatment.
This allows enough time for the treatment to reach its full effect.
Please do not request additional treatment before this period, as early assessment may lead to unnecessary or excessive treatment.

    16. What if one eyebrow is higher than the other?
It is completely normal for one side of the face to respond slightly differently during the first two weeks.
Facial muscles are naturally asymmetrical, and Botox develops gradually.
For this reason, we ask all patients to send a follow-up video 14–21 days after treatment. If a small adjustment is appropriate, your practitioner will advise you.

    17. What if my Botox wears off sooner than expected?
The duration of your results varies from person to person.
Factors such as metabolism, muscle strength, physical activity, stress, dosage, and previous treatment history can all influence how long the effects last.
Some patients naturally metabolise botulinum toxin more quickly than others.
If you feel your treatment has worn off earlier than expected, we will be happy to assess you and recommend the most appropriate timing for your next appointment.

    18. When should I contact the clinic?
Please contact us as soon as possible if you experience:
    • Significant eyelid drooping.
    • Severe or worsening facial asymmetry.
    • Difficulty swallowing, speaking, or breathing.
    • Changes in vision.
    • Increasing redness, swelling, warmth, or discharge at the injection sites.
    • Any unexpected or concerning symptoms.
If you are unsure whether your symptoms are normal, please contact our clinic. Our team is always happy to advise and support you.

Before & After
Every patient is unique. Results vary depending on muscle strength, facial anatomy, metabolism, previous treatments, and the dose required. Our goal is always to achieve natural-looking results while preserving facial expression.

Discover the Many Uses of Botox
Most people associate Botox (botulinum toxin) with reducing wrinkles, but its uses extend far beyond cosmetic anti-ageing treatments. Today, Botox is one of the most versatile treatments in aesthetic and medical practice, helping to improve facial harmony, relax overactive muscles, reduce excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), relieve muscle tension, and manage a variety of medical conditions.
Botox works by temporarily relaxing targeted muscles or reducing the activity of certain nerves, depending on the treatment area. This allows practitioners to soften expression lines, improve facial balance, relieve discomfort caused by muscle overactivity, and enhance both appearance and quality of life.
Over the years, the applications of botulinum toxin have expanded significantly. In addition to treating forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet, it can also be used for jaw slimming, teeth grinding (bruxism), chronic migraine, excessive sweating, neck rejuvenation, facial contouring, and many other aesthetic and therapeutic indications.
Some of the treatments described below are off-label, meaning they are supported by clinical experience and scientific research but may not be specifically included in the manufacturer’s licence. The suitability of any Botox treatment should always be determined during a professional medical consultation.
Explore the wide range of aesthetic and medical applications of Botox below to learn how this versatile treatment can help address different concerns while achieving safe, natural-looking results.

FACE (Aesthetic)
Forehead Lines
What are Forehead Lines?
Forehead lines are the horizontal wrinkles that appear across the forehead when raising the eyebrows. Over time, repeated facial expressions, natural ageing, sun exposure, and reduced collagen production can cause these dynamic lines to become visible even when the face is at rest.
Botox is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for softening forehead lines. It works by temporarily relaxing the frontalis muscle, reducing excessive movement while maintaining natural facial expressions. Treatment is carefully tailored to each individual to achieve a refreshed, natural-looking appearance without creating a “frozen” look.
Benefits
• Softens horizontal forehead lines
• Helps prevent deeper wrinkles from developing
• Creates a smoother, more youthful appearance
• Maintains natural facial movement
• Can improve overall facial balance when combined with treatment of the frown lines and crow’s feet
Results
Initial results are usually noticeable within 2–5 days, with the full effect developing over 14–21 days.
Results typically last around 3–4 months, depending on muscle strength, metabolism, lifestyle, and individual response to treatment.
Common concerns treated: Forehead wrinkles • Horizontal forehead lines • Dynamic wrinkles • Fine lines • Preventative Botox

Frown Lines (Glabella / 11 Lines)
What are Frown Lines?
Frown lines, also known as glabellar lines or “11 lines”, develop between the eyebrows due to repeated contraction of the muscles used when frowning, concentrating, or squinting. These lines often become more noticeable with age and may eventually remain visible even when the face is relaxed.
Botox effectively relaxes the muscles responsible for these lines, helping to soften their appearance while preventing them from becoming deeper. Treatment can also create a more relaxed, approachable appearance without affecting your ability to express emotions naturally.
Benefits
• Softens vertical frown lines
• Helps prevent deeper expression lines
• Creates a more relaxed and refreshed appearance
• Preserves natural facial expressions
• Often improves overall balance of the upper face when combined with forehead and crow’s feet treatment
Results
Most patients begin to notice improvement within 2–5 days, with the full result developing after 14–21 days.
Results generally last around 3–4 months.
Common concerns treated: Glabella • 11 lines • Frown lines • Angry appearance • Preventative Botox

Crow’s Feet
What are Crow’s Feet?
Crow’s feet are the fine lines that develop around the outer corners of the eyes due to smiling, squinting, and other repeated facial expressions. As collagen and skin elasticity naturally decrease with age, these lines can become more visible both during movement and at rest.
Botox gently relaxes the muscles around the eyes, softening existing lines while maintaining a natural smile. The treatment creates a fresher, more rested appearance without making the face look unnatural.
Benefits
• Softens wrinkles around the eyes
• Maintains a natural smile
• Helps prevent deeper crow’s feet from developing
• Creates a brighter, more youthful appearance
• Can improve the overall harmony of the upper face
Results
The first changes are usually seen within 2–5 days, with full results visible after 14–21 days.
Results typically last 3–4 months.
Common concerns treated: Crow’s feet • Eye wrinkles • Smile lines • Fine lines around the eyes • Preventative Botox

Bunny Lines
What are Bunny Lines?
Bunny lines are the small diagonal wrinkles that appear on the sides of the nose when smiling, laughing, or scrunching the nose. Although they are often subtle, they can become more noticeable over time or after treatment of other facial areas as surrounding muscles become more active.
Botox relaxes the small muscles responsible for these wrinkles, creating a smoother appearance while preserving natural facial expression. Treatment is quick, minimally invasive, and is often combined with other upper-face Botox treatments for balanced results.
Benefits
• Softens wrinkles on the sides of the nose
• Creates a smoother appearance during facial expressions
• Maintains natural movement
• Complements other facial Botox treatments
Results
Results usually begin within 2–5 days, with the final outcome developing over 14–21 days.
The effects generally last 3–4 months.
Common concerns treated: Bunny lines • Nose wrinkles • Dynamic facial wrinkles • Anti-wrinkle injections

Eyes & Brows
Brow Lift
What is a Botox Brow Lift?
A Botox Brow Lift is a non-surgical treatment designed to create a subtle lift of the eyebrows by relaxing specific muscles that naturally pull the brows downward. This allows the lifting muscles of the forehead to work more effectively, resulting in a more open, refreshed, and youthful appearance.
A Botox Brow Lift is ideal for patients who wish to improve brow position without surgery. The treatment is carefully tailored to your facial anatomy to ensure natural-looking results while maintaining normal facial expressions.
Benefits
• Creates a subtle lift of the eyebrows
• Opens the eye area
• Improves facial symmetry
• Provides a refreshed and well-rested appearance
• Can be combined with forehead and crow’s feet treatment for optimal results
Results
Initial improvement is usually visible within 2–5 days, with the full effect developing after 14–21 days.
Results typically last around 3–4 months.
Common concerns treated: Drooping eyebrows • Hooded appearance • Brow lift • Tired-looking eyes • Non-surgical brow lift

Eyebrow Asymmetry Correction
What is Eyebrow Asymmetry Correction?
It is completely normal for one eyebrow to sit slightly higher or lower than the other. In some people this difference is barely noticeable, while in others it becomes more apparent with age or increased muscle activity.
Botox can help improve eyebrow symmetry by carefully relaxing selected muscles responsible for uneven movement. Every treatment is individually planned to create a balanced, natural appearance while preserving facial expression.
Benefits
• Improves eyebrow symmetry
• Creates better facial balance
• Maintains natural movement
• Non-surgical treatment with minimal downtime
Results
Most patients notice improvement within 2–5 days, with the full result visible after 14–21 days.

Lips & Mouth
Lip Flip
What is a Lip Flip?
A Lip Flip is a popular non-surgical treatment that uses small amounts of Botox to relax the muscles around the upper lip. As the muscle relaxes, the upper lip gently rolls outward, creating the appearance of a fuller lip without adding volume.
Unlike dermal fillers, a Lip Flip does not increase lip size. Instead, it enhances the natural shape of the upper lip and can improve the appearance of the smile.
Benefits
• Creates the appearance of a fuller upper lip
• Enhances the natural lip shape
• Reduces excessive gum show when smiling
• No added volume
• Quick treatment with minimal downtime
Results
The first changes are usually visible within 2–5 days, with full results developing after 10–14 days.

Jaw
Masseter Reduction (Jaw Slimming)
What is Masseter Botox?
Masseter Botox is a popular non-surgical treatment that relaxes the masseter muscles—the large muscles responsible for chewing. In some individuals, these muscles become enlarged due to genetics, frequent gum chewing, or teeth grinding (bruxism), creating a wider or more square-shaped jawline.
By relaxing the masseter muscles, Botox gradually reduces their size over time, creating a slimmer, softer facial contour while maintaining normal chewing function. The treatment is also widely used to relieve jaw tension, facial discomfort, and symptoms associated with teeth grinding.
Benefits
• Creates a slimmer jawline
• Softens a square facial shape
• Relieves jaw tension
• Helps reduce teeth grinding
• May improve symptoms of TMJ disorders
• Non-surgical facial contouring

Common concerns treated: Masseter Botox • Jaw slimming • Square jaw • Facial contouring • Bruxism • TMJ • Jaw tension

Bruxism & TMJ Disorders
What is Botox for Bruxism and TMJ Disorders?
Botox is widely used to help manage bruxism (teeth grinding) and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders caused by excessive muscle activity. By relaxing the overactive chewing muscles, particularly the masseter and, in some cases, the temporalis muscles, Botox can reduce muscle tension, decrease involuntary clenching, and relieve discomfort associated with these conditions.
While Botox does not treat the underlying cause of bruxism or TMJ disorders, it can significantly improve symptoms and quality of life for many patients. Treatment is individually tailored based on your symptoms, muscle strength, and facial anatomy.
Benefits
• Reduces teeth grinding and jaw clenching
• Relieves jaw pain and muscle tension
• May reduce tension headaches caused by muscle overactivity
• Helps protect teeth from excessive grinding
• Improves comfort while chewing and speaking
• May also create a slimmer jawline by relaxing enlarged masseter muscles

Skin Rejuvenation
Rosacea
What is Botox for Rosacea?
Although Botox is best known for reducing wrinkles, recent clinical research and growing medical experience suggest that carefully placed MicroBotox injections may also help improve certain symptoms of rosacea, particularly persistent facial redness, flushing, and increased oil production.
Rosacea is a long-term inflammatory skin condition that commonly affects the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead. Many patients experience frequent flushing, visible blood vessels, skin sensitivity, burning sensations, and redness that can fluctuate depending on triggers such as heat, exercise, spicy foods, alcohol, stress, or changes in temperature.
MicroBotox uses highly diluted botulinum toxin injected superficially into the skin rather than deep into the muscles. Instead of relaxing facial muscles, this technique works closer to the skin surface and may reduce the release of chemical signals involved in inflammation, excessive flushing, and sebaceous gland activity.
While Botox is not a cure for rosacea, some patients notice a reduction in facial redness, fewer flushing episodes, smoother skin texture, and improved overall skin quality.
As this remains an off-label treatment, suitability should always be assessed individually by an experienced medical practitioner.
Benefits
• May reduce facial flushing
• May improve persistent redness
• Helps calm overactive skin
• Can reduce excessive oil production
• Improves overall skin texture
• May reduce visible pores when combined with MicroBotox techniques
• Complements traditional rosacea treatments
Results
Some patients begin to notice improvements within 1–2 weeks, with optimal results developing over 3–4 weeks.
Results typically last 3–4 months, although individual response varies depending on the severity of rosacea and the treatment technique used.
Important Information
Botox is not considered a first-line treatment for rosacea and does not replace appropriate skincare, sun protection, or prescription medication when indicated. It should be viewed as an additional treatment option for carefully selected patients.
Common concerns treated
Rosacea • Facial redness • Flushing • Sensitive skin • Oily skin • Enlarged pores • MicroBotox • Skin rejuvenation

Did You Know?
Emerging research suggests that botulinum toxin may influence not only muscle activity but also certain nerve signals involved in inflammation, pain, oil production, and blood vessel dilation. This is one of the reasons why its medical applications continue to expand beyond traditional anti-wrinkle treatments.

MicroBotox for Oily Skin & Enlarged Pores
What is MicroBotox?
MicroBotox is an advanced treatment technique that uses highly diluted botulinum toxin injected into the superficial layers of the skin rather than into the muscles. Unlike traditional Botox, which relaxes facial muscles to reduce wrinkles, MicroBotox focuses on improving overall skin quality.
This innovative treatment may help reduce excessive oil production, minimise the appearance of enlarged pores, improve skin texture, and create a smoother, more refined complexion. It is particularly popular among patients with oily skin, combination skin, or enlarged pores who are looking for a fresh, radiant appearance without changing their natural facial expressions.
MicroBotox can also be combined with traditional anti-wrinkle injections, skin boosters, microneedling, laser treatments, and medical-grade skincare as part of a personalised skin rejuvenation programme.
How does it work?
Botulinum toxin is injected very superficially into the skin using multiple tiny injections. At this level, it can temporarily reduce the activity of sebaceous (oil) glands and influence tiny superficial muscle fibres without affecting normal facial movement.
The result is smoother skin, a reduction in excess shine, finer-looking pores, and an overall improvement in skin quality.
Benefits
• Reduces excessive oil production
• Minimises the appearance of enlarged pores
• Improves skin texture
• Creates a smoother complexion
• Gives the skin a healthy, refreshed appearance
• Helps make make-up last longer on oily skin
• Preserves completely natural facial expressions
Results
Many patients begin to notice improvements within 7–14 days, with the skin continuing to improve over the following few weeks.
Results generally last around 3–4 months, although this varies depending on skin type and individual response.
Important Information
MicroBotox improves the appearance and quality of the skin but is not a replacement for a good skincare routine. The best long-term results are achieved when combined with appropriate medical-grade skincare, daily sun protection, and healthy lifestyle habits.
Common concerns treated
Oily skin • Enlarged pores • Uneven skin texture • Excess shine • MicroBotox • Skin rejuvenation • Glass skin

Did You Know?
Many celebrities and skincare professionals choose MicroBotox because it can improve skin quality without creating the appearance of having had cosmetic treatment. Friends often notice healthier, smoother skin without being able to identify exactly why.

Facial Slimming (MicroBotox)
What is Facial Slimming with MicroBotox?
Facial Slimming with MicroBotox is a subtle, non-surgical treatment designed to create a fresher, softer, and more refined facial appearance. Unlike traditional Masseter Botox, which reduces the size of the jaw muscles, MicroBotox works within the superficial layers of the skin and tiny facial muscles to improve skin texture while providing a gentle tightening and contouring effect.
Rather than dramatically changing your face shape, the goal is to enhance your natural facial features, improve skin quality, and create a more elegant, refreshed appearance.
This treatment is particularly suitable for patients who want natural-looking rejuvenation without obvious changes.
How does it work?
Tiny amounts of diluted botulinum toxin are injected into the superficial layers of the skin. This helps reduce the pull of very small facial muscles while improving skin texture and reducing excess oil production.
When combined with other treatments such as Masseter Botox, skin boosters, collagen stimulators, or radiofrequency microneedling, MicroBotox can contribute to comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
Benefits
• Creates a softer facial contour
• Improves skin firmness
• Refines the appearance of the lower face
• Reduces excessive skin shine
• Improves overall skin texture
• Preserves natural facial movement
• Produces subtle, elegant results
Results
Patients usually begin to notice improvements within 1–2 weeks, with the full result developing over 3–4 weeks.
Results generally last around 3–4 months.
Important Information
MicroBotox is designed to produce subtle improvements rather than dramatic changes. It works best as part of a personalised treatment plan and may be combined with other aesthetic procedures to achieve the desired result.
Common concerns treated
Facial slimming • Skin tightening • Facial contouring • Oily skin • Enlarged pores • Skin rejuvenation • MicroBotox

Did You Know?
MicroBotox is sometimes referred to as the “Red Carpet Treatment” because it enhances skin quality, refines facial contours, and creates a fresh, healthy glow without significantly altering your natural appearance. It has become increasingly popular among patients seeking discreet, natural-looking aesthetic results.

SCALP & HEAD
Scalp Hyperhidrosis
What is Scalp Hyperhidrosis?
Scalp hyperhidrosis is a condition characterised by excessive sweating of the scalp that occurs beyond what the body needs for normal temperature regulation. Many people experience persistent sweating during warm weather, physical activity, stressful situations, or even while performing everyday tasks. For some individuals, excessive scalp sweating can affect confidence, hairstyles, make-up, and overall quality of life.
Botox has become one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for scalp hyperhidrosis. It works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that stimulate the sweat glands, significantly reducing sweat production while allowing the body to regulate temperature normally through other areas.
Unlike antiperspirants or oral medications, Botox targets the problem directly at its source and can provide long-lasting relief for many patients.
Benefits
• Significantly reduces excessive scalp sweating
• Helps protect hairstyles from perspiration
• Improves daily comfort
• Increases confidence in social and professional situations
• Long-lasting, non-surgical treatment
Results
Patients often begin to notice improvement within 3–7 days, with maximum results developing over 2 weeks.
The effects typically last 4–6 months, although individual results may vary.
Important Information
Botox does not stop the body from cooling itself. Instead, it reduces sweating only in the treated area, while the body continues to regulate temperature through other sweat glands.
Common concerns treated
Scalp hyperhidrosis • Excessive scalp sweating • Hair sweating • Botox for sweating • Hyperhidrosis treatment

Did You Know?
Excessive sweating affects millions of people worldwide and is a recognised medical condition—not simply a reaction to heat or nervousness. Many patients report a significant improvement in confidence and quality of life after treatment.

Chronic Migraine
What is Botox for Chronic Migraine?
Botox is an internationally recognised treatment for chronic migraine and has been approved in many countries for patients who experience frequent migraine attacks. It is commonly recommended for individuals who have headaches on 15 or more days per month, with at least 8 of those days being migraine days.
Unlike painkillers, Botox is used as a preventative treatment. It helps reduce the frequency and severity of migraine attacks by relaxing specific muscles and reducing the release of pain-related chemical signals involved in migraine development.
Treatment usually involves a series of carefully placed injections across the forehead, temples, back of the head, neck, and shoulders following established medical protocols.
Benefits
• Reduces the frequency of migraine attacks
• May decrease migraine intensity
• Can reduce reliance on pain medication
• Improves quality of life
• Helps many patients return to normal daily activities
Results
Some patients notice improvement after the first treatment, although maximum benefit often develops after two or three treatment sessions.
Treatments are typically repeated every 12 weeks under medical supervision.
Important Information
Botox is approved for chronic migraine, not occasional headaches. Patients should always undergo a thorough medical assessment to determine whether they meet the criteria for treatment.
Common concerns treated
Chronic migraine • Migraine prevention • Frequent headaches • Medical Botox • Migraine treatment

Did You Know?
Botox was first discovered to help migraine patients after doctors noticed that many people receiving cosmetic Botox treatments reported fewer headaches. This observation led to years of clinical research and eventually to its approval as a migraine treatment.

Tension Headaches
What is Botox for Tension Headaches?
Tension headaches are one of the most common types of headaches and are often associated with muscle tightness in the forehead, temples, jaw, neck, and shoulders. Stress, poor posture, prolonged computer use, teeth grinding, and muscle overactivity can all contribute to persistent discomfort.
In carefully selected patients, Botox may help reduce excessive muscle tension that contributes to chronic tension-type headaches. By relaxing overactive muscles, treatment may decrease pressure, improve comfort, and reduce the frequency of headache episodes.
This remains an off-label treatment and is not suitable for every patient. A full medical assessment is essential before considering treatment.
Benefits
• May reduce muscle tension
• Helps relieve pressure in the forehead, temples, and neck
• Can reduce headache frequency in selected patients
• Improves comfort during daily activities
Results
Patients who respond to treatment often begin to notice improvement within 1–2 weeks, with full effects developing after approximately 2–4 weeks.
Results usually last 3–4 months.
Important Information
Headaches have many possible causes. Botox should only be considered after appropriate medical assessment to determine whether muscle overactivity is contributing to the symptoms.
Common concerns treated
Tension headaches • Muscle tension • Forehead pain • Neck tension • Stress headaches

Temporal Muscle Hypertrophy
What is Temporal Muscle Hypertrophy?
The temporalis muscles are located on the sides of the head and play an important role in chewing. In some individuals, these muscles become enlarged due to genetics, prolonged teeth grinding (bruxism), jaw clenching, or excessive chewing.
Enlarged temporalis muscles may contribute to headaches, jaw discomfort, facial widening, and increased tension around the temples.
Botox relaxes these muscles, helping to reduce muscle overactivity, relieve discomfort, and gradually soften their size over time. Treatment is often combined with Masseter Botox for patients experiencing bruxism or those seeking more balanced facial contours.
Benefits
• Reduces temple muscle tension
• May relieve headaches associated with muscle overactivity
• Helps manage bruxism
• Can improve facial balance
• Non-surgical treatment
Results
Muscle relaxation usually begins within 5–10 days, while visible reduction in muscle size develops gradually over 4–8 weeks.

Temporal muscle hypertrophy • Temple pain • Bruxism • Jaw clenching • Headaches • Facial contouring

BODY (Aesthetic)
Trapezius Slimming (TrapTox / Barbie Botox)
What is TrapTox (Barbie Botox)?
TrapTox, also known as Barbie Botox, is a non-surgical treatment that relaxes the trapezius muscles—the large muscles extending from the neck to the shoulders. These muscles often become enlarged due to poor posture, stress, heavy lifting, intense exercise, or naturally strong muscle development.
When the trapezius muscles become overactive, they may cause neck tension, shoulder discomfort, headaches, and a bulky appearance of the upper body. Botox relaxes these muscles, allowing them to gradually reduce in size over time while improving shoulder contour and creating a longer, more elegant neck.
This treatment has become increasingly popular among patients seeking a slimmer shoulder profile and improved posture, particularly those looking for a more feminine silhouette.
How does it work?
Botox temporarily reduces excessive muscle activity within the trapezius muscles. As the muscles relax and are used less intensely, they gradually decrease in size over several weeks.
In addition to cosmetic improvement, many patients experience reduced muscle tension and greater comfort in the neck and shoulder area.
Benefits
• Creates a longer-looking neck
• Slims broad or muscular shoulders
• Improves shoulder contour
• Reduces neck and shoulder tension
• May help relieve posture-related discomfort
• Can reduce tension headaches associated with muscle overactivity
• Non-surgical treatment with minimal downtime
Results
Some patients notice muscle relaxation within 1–2 weeks, while visible slimming usually develops over 4–8 weeks.
Results typically last 4–6 months, although this varies depending on muscle size and activity level.
Important Information
TrapTox is designed to reduce excessive muscle activity without affecting normal shoulder function. Treatment is carefully tailored to your anatomy, lifestyle, and aesthetic goals.
Common concerns treated

Botox reduces sweating only in the treated area and does not interfere with the body’s normal ability to regulate temperature.
Common concerns treated
Chest hyperhidrosis • Excessive chest sweating • Botox for sweating • Hyperhidrosis treatment

Underarm Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)
What is Botox for Underarm Hyperhidrosis?
Underarm hyperhidrosis is one of the most common forms of excessive sweating. Many people continue to experience heavy perspiration even when they are cool, relaxed, or using prescription-strength antiperspirants.
Botox is considered one of the most effective treatments for excessive underarm sweating. It works by temporarily blocking the communication between nerves and sweat glands, dramatically reducing sweat production while allowing the body to continue cooling itself naturally.
The procedure is quick, minimally invasive, and can provide months of relief without the need for daily topical products.
Benefits
• Significantly reduces underarm sweating
• Helps keep clothing dry
• Reduces body odour associated with sweating
• Improves confidence in everyday life
• Long-lasting results with minimal downtime
Results
Sweating usually begins to decrease within 3–7 days, with maximum improvement visible after 2 weeks.

LEGS
Calf Slimming
What is Calf Slimming with Botox?
Calf Slimming with Botox is a non-surgical treatment designed to reduce the size of enlarged calf muscles, creating a slimmer and more proportionate lower leg. Some people naturally have prominent calf muscles due to genetics, while others develop them through activities such as running, dancing, cycling, or frequent wearing of high heels.
Botox works by temporarily relaxing the gastrocnemius muscle, reducing its activity. Over time, the muscle gradually becomes smaller, resulting in a softer and more refined leg contour while maintaining normal walking and daily activities.
This treatment is particularly popular among patients who wish to achieve slimmer legs without surgery or prolonged recovery.
How does it work?
Botox temporarily decreases muscle activity. As the treated muscle works less intensely, it gradually reduces in size over several weeks. The slimming effect develops naturally and progressively.
Benefits
• Creates a slimmer calf appearance
• Improves leg proportions
• Softens bulky calf muscles
• Non-surgical body contouring
• Minimal downtime
• Natural-looking results
Results
Muscle relaxation begins within 1–2 weeks, while visible slimming usually develops over 6–12 weeks.
Results typically last 4–6 months. Repeat treatments may provide longer-lasting muscle reduction over time.
Important Information
Calf Slimming with Botox does not remove fat. The treatment is most effective when enlarged calves are caused by muscle rather than fatty tissue.
Common concerns treated
Calf Slimming • Large calves • Bulky calf muscles • Leg contouring • Non-surgical body contouring

Calf Muscle Hypertrophy
What is Calf Muscle Hypertrophy?
Calf muscle hypertrophy refers to enlargement of the calf muscles beyond their normal size. This may occur due to genetics, athletic training, prolonged standing, or repetitive physical activity.

Common concerns treated
Lower leg contouring • Leg shaping • Slim legs • Calf contouring • Aesthetic Botox

Did You Know?
The calf muscles are among the strongest muscles in the body, which means aesthetic changes develop more gradually than in facial treatments. While facial Botox often reaches its full effect within two weeks, calf slimming usually continues to improve over several months as the muscle naturally decreases in size.

Beyond Aesthetic Medicine
Medical & Intimate Health Applications of Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum toxin is widely recognised for its cosmetic benefits, but it is also used in modern medicine to help manage a variety of functional and medical conditions affecting different parts of the body.
In carefully selected patients, Botox may help reduce excessive muscle activity, relieve chronic muscle spasms, improve quality of life, and treat conditions that cannot always be effectively managed with conservative treatments alone.
Many of the treatments described in this section are performed for medical indications and should always be carried out following a comprehensive consultation with an appropriately trained medical professional. Some procedures are considered off-label, meaning they are supported by clinical evidence and professional experience but may not be specifically included within the manufacturer’s licence.
Every treatment plan is tailored to the individual, taking into account medical history, symptoms, anatomy, and treatment goals.

Female Intimate Health
Groin Hyperhidrosis
What is Groin Hyperhidrosis?
Groin hyperhidrosis is a medical condition characterised by excessive sweating in the intimate area beyond what is necessary for normal temperature regulation. Although many people are unaware that treatment is available, excessive sweating in this region can significantly affect comfort, confidence, clothing choices, physical activity, and intimate relationships.
Patients often report persistent moisture, skin irritation, chafing, unpleasant odour, and discomfort, particularly during exercise, warm weather, or prolonged sitting. In some cases, excessive sweating may also contribute to recurrent skin irritation or fungal infections.
Botox is increasingly used as a highly effective treatment for groin hyperhidrosis. It works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that stimulate the sweat glands, significantly reducing sweat production while allowing the body to regulate its temperature normally through other areas.
The procedure is performed using multiple tiny injections placed just beneath the skin. Treatment is generally well tolerated, and patients are able to return to their normal daily activities shortly afterwards.
Benefits
• Significantly reduces excessive sweating
• Improves comfort throughout the day
• Helps prevent skin irritation and chafing
• May reduce unpleasant odour associated with excessive perspiration
• Improves confidence during exercise and daily activities
• Long-lasting, non-surgical treatment
Results
Most patients begin to notice a reduction in sweating within 3–7 days, with maximum improvement developing after approximately 2 weeks.
Results typically last 6–9 months, although individual response varies.
Important Information
Groin hyperhidrosis is a recognised medical condition and is more common than many people realise. Seeking treatment is not simply a cosmetic decision—it can significantly improve daily comfort and quality of life.
Common concerns treated
Groin hyperhidrosis • Excessive intimate sweating • Medical Botox • Hyperhidrosis treatment • Intimate health

Did You Know?
Hyperhidrosis affects approximately 2–5% of the population, yet many people never seek treatment because they are unaware that effective medical options are available.

Vaginismus
What is Vaginismus?
Vaginismus is a medical condition in which the pelvic floor muscles contract involuntarily, making vaginal penetration difficult, painful, or, in some cases, impossible. The condition can affect intimate relationships, gynaecological examinations, tampon use, and overall quality of life.
The causes of vaginismus are often multifactorial and may include muscle overactivity, previous painful experiences, anxiety, pelvic floor dysfunction, or other medical conditions.
In selected patients, Botox may be used to temporarily relax the overactive pelvic floor muscles, allowing them to release involuntary muscle contractions. Treatment is typically combined with pelvic floor physiotherapy, graduated dilator therapy, counselling where appropriate, and ongoing follow-up to achieve the best possible outcome.
Benefits
• Relaxes overactive pelvic floor muscles
• May reduce pain during penetration
• Supports pelvic floor rehabilitation
• Can improve comfort during gynaecological examinations
• May improve quality of life and intimate wellbeing
Results
Muscle relaxation usually begins within 5–14 days, with maximum benefit developing over the following few weeks.

Pelvic Floor Muscle Spasm
What is Pelvic Floor Muscle Spasm?
The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that supports the bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs while playing an essential role in bladder control, bowel function, posture, and sexual health. When these muscles become overactive or fail to relax properly, patients may experience chronic pelvic pain, muscle tightness, painful intercourse, difficulty with bowel movements, urinary symptoms, or persistent discomfort when sitting.
Pelvic floor muscle spasm can develop for many reasons, including childbirth, pelvic surgery, chronic pain syndromes, muscle overactivity, injury, prolonged stress, or neurological conditions. In many cases, symptoms significantly affect quality of life and may persist for years before an accurate diagnosis is made.
In carefully selected patients, Botox may be used to temporarily relax overactive pelvic floor muscles, helping to reduce involuntary muscle contraction and relieve symptoms. Treatment is often performed as part of a multidisciplinary treatment plan involving pelvic floor physiotherapy, pain specialists, gynaecologists, or urologists.
How does it work?
Botulinum toxin temporarily reduces excessive muscle activity by blocking the nerve signals responsible for continuous muscle contraction. As the muscles relax, many patients experience reduced pain, improved muscle flexibility, and increased comfort during daily activities.
Benefits
• Relaxes overactive pelvic floor muscles
• May reduce chronic pelvic pain
• Helps improve muscle flexibility
• Can reduce pain during sitting and movement
• Supports pelvic floor rehabilitation
• May improve quality of life
Results
Patients often begin to notice improvement within 1–2 weeks, with maximum benefit developing over 4–6 weeks.

Anal Region
Chronic Anal Fissure
What is a Chronic Anal Fissure?
A chronic anal fissure is a small tear in the lining of the anal canal that fails to heal over time. Unlike an acute fissure, which often heals within a few weeks, a chronic fissure may persist for months and can cause severe pain during and after bowel movements, bleeding, muscle spasm, and significant discomfort.
One of the main reasons chronic fissures fail to heal is excessive spasm of the internal anal sphincter. When this muscle remains tightly contracted, blood flow to the affected area is reduced, slowing the natural healing process.
Botox offers a minimally invasive alternative to surgery by temporarily relaxing the internal anal sphincter. As the muscle relaxes, blood circulation improves, pain decreases, and the fissure is given a better opportunity to heal naturally.
Treatment is widely used in colorectal practice and can help many patients avoid surgical intervention.
Benefits
• Relaxes the anal sphincter
• Reduces pain during bowel movements
• Improves blood supply to the fissure
• Supports natural healing
• May reduce the need for surgery
• Minimally invasive procedure
Results
Pain often begins to improve within several days, while muscle relaxation develops over 1–2 weeks.
Healing usually continues over the following 6–8 weeks, depending on the severity of the fissure.
Important Information
Botox treatment is usually combined with dietary advice, stool softeners, adequate hydration, and appropriate topical medications to maximise healing.
Common concerns treated
Chronic anal fissure • Painful bowel movements • Anal pain • Colorectal Botox • Medical Botox

Anal Sphincter Spasm
What is Anal Sphincter Spasm?
The anal sphincter is a circular muscle responsible for maintaining bowel control. In some patients, the muscle becomes excessively tight or goes into persistent spasm, leading to pain, difficulty passing stool, and delayed healing of associated conditions.
Botox can temporarily relax the overactive sphincter muscle, reducing pressure, relieving pain, and improving comfort. This treatment is commonly considered when conservative measures have not been successful.
Benefits
• Relieves muscle spasm
• Reduces pressure within the anal canal
• Improves comfort during bowel movements
• Supports healing of associated conditions
• Minimally invasive treatment
Results
Most patients notice gradual improvement over 1–2 weeks, with continued benefit over the following months.
Results generally last 3–4 months.

FDA-Approved & Evidence-Based Medical Uses of Botulinum Toxin

Chronic Migraine
What is Botox for Chronic Migraine?
Chronic migraine is a neurological condition that can significantly affect quality of life, causing frequent headaches, sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, and reduced daily functioning. Botox is an internationally recognised treatment approved in many countries for adults experiencing 15 or more headache days per month, with at least 8 of those days being migraine days.
Unlike painkillers, Botox is used as a preventative treatment. It works by reducing the release of pain-related neurotransmitters and relaxing specific muscles involved in migraine pathways, helping to decrease both the frequency and severity of attacks.
Treatment follows a carefully designed medical protocol involving multiple small injections across the forehead, temples, scalp, back of the head, neck, and shoulders.
Benefits
• Reduces migraine frequency
• May decrease headache intensity
• Helps reduce reliance on pain medication
• Improves daily functioning
• Enhances quality of life
Results
Some patients notice improvement after the first treatment, although optimal results often develop after 2–3 treatment cycles.
Treatment is generally repeated every 12 weeks.

Botox is approved for chronic migraine, not occasional headaches. A medical assessment is essential to determine whether you meet the treatment criteria.
Common concerns treated
Chronic migraine • Migraine prevention • Frequent headaches • Neurological Botox • Medical Botox

Bruxism (Teeth Grinding)
What is Bruxism?
Bruxism is the involuntary clenching or grinding of the teeth, most commonly during sleep but sometimes during the day. Over time, excessive jaw muscle activity can lead to worn teeth, jaw pain, headaches, enlarged jaw muscles, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
Botox relaxes the overactive chewing muscles, particularly the masseter and, in some cases, the temporalis muscles. This reduces the force of clenching without preventing normal chewing or speaking.
Many patients also notice a slimmer jawline as the enlarged muscles gradually decrease in size.
Benefits
• Reduces teeth grinding
• Relieves jaw tension
• Helps reduce headaches
• Protects teeth from excessive wear
• May improve facial contour
Results
Muscle relaxation usually begins within 5–10 days, with full improvement developing after 2–4 weeks.

Common concerns treated
Blepharospasm • Eyelid spasms • Excessive blinking • Neurological Botox

Muscle Spasticity
What is Muscle Spasticity?
Muscle spasticity is a condition in which muscles become abnormally tight or continuously contracted due to damage affecting the brain, spinal cord, or nervous system. It commonly occurs after stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, and other neurological disorders.
Spastic muscles may cause stiffness, pain, involuntary muscle contractions, reduced mobility, abnormal posture, difficulty walking, and challenges with everyday activities. In severe cases, prolonged muscle overactivity can lead to joint contractures and permanent limitations in movement.
Botox is widely used to treat focal muscle spasticity by temporarily relaxing selected overactive muscles. This allows patients to move more comfortably, improves limb positioning, reduces pain, and supports rehabilitation.
Treatment is highly individualised and often forms part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation programme involving neurologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation specialists.
How does it work?
Botulinum toxin temporarily blocks the nerve signals responsible for excessive muscle contraction. The treated muscles gradually relax, making stretching, physiotherapy, and functional movement easier.
Benefits
• Reduces muscle stiffness
• Relieves painful muscle spasms
• Improves range of motion
• Supports physiotherapy and rehabilitation
• Improves posture and mobility
• Helps prevent long-term muscle contractures
• Enhances quality of life
Results
Muscle relaxation usually begins within 5–10 days, with maximum improvement developing over 2–6 weeks.
Results generally last 3–4 months, after which repeat treatment may be recommended if clinically appropriate.
Important Information
Botox is one component of spasticity management and works best when combined with physiotherapy, stretching programmes, splinting, and other rehabilitation strategies.
Common concerns treated
Muscle spasticity • Neurological rehabilitation • Stroke rehabilitation • Cerebral palsy • Multiple sclerosis • Muscle stiffness • Medical Botox

Overactive Bladder (OAB)
What is Overactive Bladder?
Overactive bladder (OAB) is a medical condition characterised by a sudden and difficult-to-control urge to urinate, frequent urination during the day and night, and, in some cases, urinary leakage (urge incontinence).
These symptoms can significantly affect daily life, work, travel, sleep quality, exercise, and social confidence. Many patients find themselves constantly planning activities around access to toilets.
When lifestyle modifications and medications fail to provide adequate relief, Botox may be recommended as an effective treatment option. Botox is injected directly into the bladder muscle using a minimally invasive cystoscopic procedure performed by a qualified urologist.
The treatment relaxes the bladder muscle, reducing involuntary contractions while increasing bladder capacity and improving urinary control.
Benefits
• Reduces urinary urgency
• Decreases urinary frequency
• Helps control urge incontinence
• Improves bladder capacity
• Enhances quality of life
• Long-lasting treatment
Results
Many patients begin noticing improvement within 1–2 weeks, with full benefits developing over 2–4 weeks.
Results typically last 6–9 months, after which repeat treatment may be appropriate.
Important Information
Botox treatment for overactive bladder should only be performed by an appropriately trained urology specialist. Temporary urinary retention may occur in a small number of patients, and this potential risk will be discussed during consultation.
Common concerns treated
Overactive bladder • Urinary urgency • Frequent urination • Urge incontinence • Bladder Botox • Medical Botox

Excessive Salivation (Sialorrhea)
What is Sialorrhea?
Sialorrhea, also known as excessive salivation or drooling, occurs when saliva cannot be effectively controlled or swallowed. While excessive saliva production is sometimes involved, the condition is more commonly caused by difficulties with swallowing or neuromuscular control.
Sialorrhea may occur in both children and adults and is frequently associated with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, cerebral palsy, stroke, motor neurone disease (ALS), and other disorders affecting facial or swallowing muscles.
Botox provides an effective non-surgical treatment by reducing saliva production through carefully placed injections into the salivary glands. The goal is to improve saliva control while maintaining sufficient moisture for normal oral health and comfort.
Treatment can significantly improve quality of life, communication, eating, skin health, and social confidence.
Benefits
• Reduces excessive saliva production
• Improves swallowing comfort
• Helps prevent skin irritation around the mouth
• Improves speech and communication
• Enhances confidence and quality of life
• Long-lasting treatment
Results
Most patients begin to notice improvement within 5–10 days, with maximum benefit developing after approximately 2 weeks.
Results generally last 3–4 months.
Important Information
Treatment should always be performed following a comprehensive medical assessment. The objective is to reduce excessive salivation while maintaining enough saliva for healthy oral function.
Common concerns treated
Sialorrhea • Excessive salivation • Drooling • Salivary gland Botox • Neurological disorders • Medical Botox
